Tretyakov Gallery

The Tretyakov Gallery is a national museum of Russian Fine Arts. It is named after its founder. At the end of the 19th century, Pavel Tretyakov, a merchant and industrialist, willed his vast collection of paintings to the city of Moscow.

The collection features, for example, the famous 15th century icon The Trinity by Andrey Rublyov, the grandiose composition of Appearance of Christ to the people bij Aleksanr Ivanov, as well as the works of Russian avant-garde artists Malevich, Kandinsky, Rodchenko, and others.
